Hyderabad : An Overview

Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh is geographically the fifth largest city and the sixth most populous city of India. Founded by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, Sultan of the Qutb Shahi dynasty, in 1590 the city has undergone multitude changes which have shaped the character of the city and today it is recognized by various names as the city of pearls, lakes and, now for IT Companies. Its palaces and buildings, houses and tenements, gardens and streets exhibit their own history and an architectural presence.

Its rich history and multilingual culture attracts thousands of visitors from all over the globe to discover the real episode prevailing in Hyderabad. The city offers a captivating combination of tradition and trend to the tourists and travelers. The residents of Hyderabad are popularly known or called as Hyderabadis. It is most famous for its charming minarets - Charminar. The city is often identified with the majestic Charminar which stands at the center of the old city. The city offers the colorful shops of Laad bazaar with its glittering traditional bangles. It has been transformed to an IT hub of the country and stepping forth to become a global destination in this field.

Despite its new found attractiveness as a business destination, Hyderabad is also a hot destination for education owing to the presence of several institutions of national and international importance. The rapid economy and industrial growth of the city has changed the lifestyle of the people making Hyderabad a city of bliss. The “twin cities” of Hyderabad and Secunderabad are gaining tremendous success in many fronts. The two most expensive residential real estates in the state of Andhra Pradesh, the Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills are located in the city. A delightfully elegant disposition, a marvel of technological progress or a city with quite some tradition - Hyderabad is really the blend of all these.

The city is also the home of Telugu Film Industry known as Tollywood. During recent years Hyderabad has emerged as one the pioneer hubs for the IT industry in India, as the result of these technological developments the city is also called as Cyberabad. Apart from this various biotechnological and pharmaceutical companies have established their head office in the city.
