The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is in charge of the civic administration and infrastructure of Hyderabad.
The GHMC covers an area of 650 km per square spread over 3 districts of Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medak districts.

Secunderabad Cantonment board (SCB)
This body oversees some suburbs of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The SCB comprises of the Indian Army and Airforce, the civic administration and infrastructure is looked after by the SCB.
The Chief Executive officer (a civilian) is appointed by the Indian Defence Ministry, who wields the executive powers while the Board President is an Indian Army Commander of the Brigadier grade and is stationed in Secunderabad.
HMDA ( Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority)
This body manages 54 mandals located in 5 districts with a toatal area of 7,100 km per square. It manages the development activities of the area including the administration of Hyderabad Metro Water supply and sewerage board (HMWSSB), the AP Transmission Corporation and AP state road transport corporation (APSRTC ). HMDA has 4 zonal offices located in Shankerpally, Ghatkesar, Medchal and Shamahabad.
Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB)
This body looks after the city water needs. It supplies water from the multiple dams located in the suburbs of Hyderabad. Water is also drawn from the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam to provide drinking water to the people.
