Indian Oil Gas, HP Gas and Bharat Gas are the leading companies offering LPG gas services in Hyderabad, like any other city of the country. The city is yet to see the dispersion of natural gas pipeline connections, but the officials of Nalsar quarters in Shameerpet got the first gas pipeline connections of the city in 2011, indicating a sooner switch to gas pipelines from LPG in the city. How to get new gas connection in Hyderabad

Step 1

Approach a nearest distributor. Surrender any previous gas connection, if you have in your name.

Step 2

Submit the required documents with a filled in application form for new connection. Document requirements laid down by the companies are mentioned below. On submission you will be allotted a booking number to track the status of your application.

Documents required for Hindustan Petroleum:

Copy of House Lease Agreement
Copy of Ration Card
Copy of Telephone/Any Utility Bill
Self Declaration Attested by gazette Officer

Documents required for Bharat Gas:

For Proof of Identity, copy of any of the below can be submitted:

Voter identification card
Passport
Driving license
PAN card
Any photo identification by the state government or Aadhaar number allotment letter

For Proof of Address, submit copy of any of the below documents:

Voter identification card
Ration card
Electricity bill
LIC policy
Employer’s certificate
Last two months Rent receipt
Telephone bill
Flat allotment letter
House registration papers or Aadhaar number allotment letter

Step 3

You will be informed about the time span in which the connection will be issued to you, which is generally 7 days to 1 month. With the shortages in availability of the new connections, your request may extent upto 3 months for new connection. After the issue of connection, you would need to collect subscription voucher and domestic gas consumer card from the distributor.

Step 4

A consolidated payment of around Rs 3000 will be payable in cash under the following heads. However the said prices are subject to timely revisions.

Refundable deposit of 2 cylinders = Rs 2900
Refundable deposit for 1 regulator= Rs 150
Cost of hotplate stove Rs 1600
Cost of rubber tube
Refill cost of first cylinder = Rs 300 or as per the current rate
Installation and administration charges = Rs 50

Although there is no requirement of purchasing stove or rubber tube from the distributor, but they might insist on purchasing them. Insist on a cash memo for the payments done. Once the registration is done, you can book a gas cylinder over phone or reach your distributor for booking a gas cylinder.
