Legislative Assembly is not quite a tourist destination you will like to suggest to your friend! However, this is quite a place to see! Situated amidst a public garden at the heart of Hyderabad city, this is the core from where all laws and regulations for the state of Telangana emerge! Everyone keeps reading about what happens every day in the Legislative Assembly but very few have given a thought to have a firsthand experience of actually standing right in front of it!The Legislative Assembly building is a majestic one - white in colour with a fusion of Rajasthan and Persian architecture. The building was built by fund raised by people of Hyderabad marking the 40th birthday of VI Nizam of Hyderabad (Nizam Mis Mahboob Ali Khan) in the year 1905. It took around 8 years to build this building. In 1913, it became the Town Hall.
In 1980, the New Assembly Building was built for accommodation of offices of different political parties and other legislative offices. There is greenery all over the place and a 22-feet tall statue of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi has been positioned at the entrance with 'My life is my message' inscribed on the pedestal.
The Nizam's Museum in Hyderabad
This last Nizam is considered as the richest man in the world during his time! He had a collection of artefacts, souvenirs and momentos from various parts of the globe which have been displayed in the Nizam's Museum in Purani Haveli. Purani Haveli was one of the Nizam's many palaces during his rule.
There are silver models of important buildings of Hyderabad, wooden throne decorated using gold, glass inlay painting of Nizam Osman Ali Khan, silver perfume containers, wooden writing box studded with diamonds etc.
His cars such as 1930 Rolls-Royce, a Jaguar Mark V and Packard have also been kept in the museum. The museum was renovated and open for public on February 19, 2000.

Raymond Tomb in Hyderabad
Michael Joachim Marie Raymond was a Frenchman who became a soldier in the army of the ruling Nizam of Hyderabad. However, gradually he was appointed as Amar-e-Jinsi or Appointer of Ordinance in 1796. He established many cannons and cannonball factories. There is a gun foundry near Fathe maidan near Hyderabad which can be seen even today. Raymond later became a General in the Nizam's army and was lovingly called as Monsieur Raymond. He was a very close friend of Nizam Ali Khan, the II Asaf Jahi. He was extremely popular amongst local people.Timings: 9.30 AM to 4.30 PM
The tomb has been renovated and attracts locals and tourists who light incense sticks to pay their respects to Raymond.
