Hyderabad, known as pearl city or city of Nizams lies in the Deccan Plateau and rises to an average height of 536 m above the sea level is surrounded with various trekking locations. Here is the list of some famous trekking locations in and around Hyderabad.
How to Reach Anantagiri Hills
Vikarabad is the nearest town from Ananthagiri hills.
By Road: One can reach Ananthagiri hills by following either of the two routes. One route is Hyderabad - Manneguda - Vikarabad . And the other route is JNTU (KPHB) - BHEL - Patancheru - Rudraram -Kothagadi - Vikarabad (approx 90km).
By Train: Since Vikarabad is on the Hyderabad - Mumbai line, so all the trains from Hyderabad to Mumbai have a stop at Vikarabad.
The nearest airport is located at Vishakhapatnam.
However, it is best to opt for the road to reach Ananthagiri and it is better to take your own vehicle from Hyderabad, instead of using public transport as there are limited options available in Vikarabad.
Instructions for trekking:
- Wear Full track pants and T-shirts
- Wear sport and trekking shoes only
- Take a cap and sun-glass
- Carry water bottles
- Get fruits, juices or energy drink or something to munch on after and during the trek
- Have a light breakfast before trek don't go empty stomach, or take milk/honey/apple/orange
- Get your camera if interested in photography
- Kids should be accompanied by parent or guardian
